Curators’ Introduction Moderated by Ellen Berkovitch: Opening event for Unsettled Landscapes

    4:00 PM

Curators’ Introduction Moderated by Ellen Berkovitch, Founder/Editor of adobeairstream.com at the Santa Fe Farmers Market Pavilion

Please join us to meet the curators, and hear about the genesis of Unsettled Landscapes, including how the ideas behind the exhibition originated, and how the artists and their works were selected. Candice Hopkins and Lucia Sanroman, curators, as well as Janet Dees, Curator of Special Projects, and Irene Hofmann, SITElines Director, will illuminate the unique collaborative structure for planning SITE’s biennials going forward, and how Unsettled Landscapes sets the stage for a vision of continuity between biennials, a commitment to community and place, and a dedication to new and under-recognized art.

    Unsettled Landscapes

Unsettled Landscapes looked at the urgencies, political conditions and historical narratives that inform the work of contemporary artists across the Americas – from Nunavut to Tierra del Fuego. Through three themes – landscape, territory, and trade – this exhibition expresses the interconnections among representations of the land, movement across the land, and economies and resources derived from the land.

    20 JUL 2014 / 11 JAN 2015

Guided by artists, rooted in New Mexico, SITE SANTA FE celebrates contemporary creative expression.
