For his SITE Center project for much wider than a line, Raven Chacon teaches musical composition for string quartet to regional Native teenagers exposing them to this art for the first time. Eliminating the need to break down traditional Western classical musical training as the students have no previous formal training, the compositions become unique expressions that reference personal histories and traditions from within their own culture. Professional musicians perform the Native teens’ compositions in this presentation.

The new compostions will be performed by Huntress Quartet:

Rosie Hutchinson– violin
Heather Trost – viola
Ariel Muniz – cello
