Performance Anxiety
PAST
08 MAR 1998 / 18 MAY 1998
Performance Anxiety includes installations that invite you to “perform” physically and psychologically. The mind and body as a whole are engaged in a more explicit manner than with the traditionally contemplative mediums of painting and sculpture. Smell, taste, touch and sound may complement or even supplant the usual dominance of vision, thus altering the art experience. The typical dichotomy between active artists and passive audience is also challenged.
