Amol K. Patil is a multidisciplinary conceptual and performance artist whose work explores the lived experiences of working-class communities, caste injustice, and migration through gestural installations, drawing, kinetic sculpture, video, and live performance.
Patil is part of a lineage of resistance: his grandfather was a Powada Shahir—a folk poet and performer—and his father, an avant‑garde playwright. Amol revisits their archival recordings, scripts, and handwritten songs, weaving them into contemporary pieces that echo multi-generational social critique.
Continuing on the path of his ancestors, Patil shines a poetic yet urgent light on the underrepresented narratives of labor, class, and community. Through multi-layered installations and performances, he revitalizes oral archives and urban histories, making the ephemeral tangible—and calling attention to resilience and resistance in today's cities.
