Heralded as an “experimental prophet” (LA Times), legendary filmmaker Godfrey Reggio is known for creating visual essays that combine image and sound to chronicle the perils of modern urbanization and development and its potentially destructive impact. These themes are most prominently explored in his renowned QATSI Trilogy: Koyaanisqatsi (1983), Powaqqatsi (1988), and Naqoyqatsi (2002). His longstanding partnership with composer Philip Glass, which began when creating Koyaanisqatsi in 1975, has produced extraordinary collaborations across both their storied careers.
