Curatorial Presentation

Join us for an inspiring keynote presentation featuring 12th SITE SANTA FE International curator Cecilia Alemani as she engages with Dr. Estevan Rael-Gálvez, an anthropologist and historian, writer, and community strategist.

Together, they will explore artistic and curatorial reflections on place-making in New Mexico and the role of storytelling in transforming lived experiences into cultural narratives that shape future generations. Dr. Estevan Rael-Gálvez will introduce the program, providing insights on New Mexico's dynamic cultural history, followed by Cecilia Alemani's presentation of her curatorial vision for Once Within a Time.

Narratives/ Counter-Narratives Artist Panel

A panel of exhibiting artists will directly follow, focusing on tensions between historical narratives and counter-narratives. Moderated by Cecilia Alemani, the conversation will examine how contemporary art can provide an alternative to dominant sociopolitical narratives, reveal underrepresented histories, and steward ancestral knowledge.
